Dependable Commercial Plumbing
Commercial plumbing is a different kind of beast. We realize that whether the plumbing problem is in your office, production facility, store or restaurant, you need to protect your employees and customers, avoid damage, and maintain a professional appearance.
Commercial plumbing demands are significant because of the fact there are so many people concentrated in a small area. This means there is a higher chance for slips which lead to injuries and law suits. We have seen too many minor plumbing repairs go neglected, leading to serious problems that never needed to happen.
That’s why we respond quickly, get the job done fast, and leave no trace of our plumbing work behind. In fact, we recommend proactively working on maintaining your plumbing, so you can reduce the chances of commercial plumbing problems in the first place.
We can arrange a regular plumbing maintenance schedule where we check your connections, make sure pipes are secure and leak free, test sensors and valves, and replace anything that appears could lead to trouble.
We always offer estimates and gain your approvals before doing any work. We suggest the most cost effective solutions, and we use affordable but reliable plumbing brands.
Being a commercial plumber in Lehi Utah demands a professionalism that many of our competitors just can’t match. Let Your Plumber Lehi show you just how a commercial plumbing contractor should be.

Fast and Reliable Drain Cleaning
Drain cleaning is a huge part of offering a plumbing service. We see no exceptions as a Lehi plumber. Whether it’s dirt from our often arid Utah climate, mud tracked in during our long and dreary winters, numerous toys or clothes from the large families, or the common intrusion of roots in the drain pipes, there are many things that could lead to clogged drains.
Add to all that the normal life events that send grease, hair, debris and mystery items down the drains and you can understand why we keep so busy.
We like to offer some tips to help you prevent drain cleaning problems, but when that time comes you just can’t do it yourself, remember to call Your Plumber Lehi to fix things right.
For Kitchen Drains
– The most common culprits causing kitchen drain clogs are food waste and grease. So many people put everything and anything down the drain into their garbage disposal. Too many people think these are unbreakable. Truth is, there are lots of things that negatively impact the effectiveness of your garbage disposal, and that leads to a backup in your kitchen sink. Make sure you only put things in that are biodegradable and easily broken apart. Don’t send grease down your drain unless you are running cold water that allows it to harden and break up. Avoid fibrous materials. If you make a mistake and things get clogged anyway, call your local Lehi plumber and we will make things right again.
For Bathroom Drains
– A lot of things go down the drains in your bathroom. You wash your body and use chemicals. All this primping can lead to an increase in hair and chemical buildup getting stuck where the dirty water is supposed to go. When enough of that stuff gets down there, you’ve got a clogged drain. Use a special drain snake to try pulling the buildup out. There are natural and chemical options to break things up when they are too far down and just won’t come unstuck. In the end, if you just can’t get it unclogged give us a call.
For Floor Drains
– Basements, laundry rooms, and utility rooms often have floor drains that are there to allow the escape of water if ever it floods the room. This is great, but the very fact these drains are on the floor means they are highly susceptible to debris and dirt getting pushed down into them. When the water flows, this often leads to a muddy, sludgy mess that causes the water to back up because it has not way to get through. Keep these drains cleaned out regularly, and keep the surrounding areas clean as well. Make sure these drains work every so often because a little testing now and then is much less convenient than a flooded basement that causes thousands of dollars in damages and hours of frustration.
What Do You Know About Your Garbage Disposal?
We already talked about how garbage disposals can be a contributing factor to why your kitchen sink gets clogged. This is because people tend to think of them as magical black holes that eat up anything shoved into them. Sadly this is not the case. As a professional Lehi plumber we have seen too many garbage disposal repairs that really were not needed, except for some careless decisions by the homeowners.
Garbage disposals work thanks to spinning blades inside that help to break up and shred things. After this happens, the remaining mush is meant to smoothly go down the normal drain pipes. When the blades aren’t working well, the mush is too thick and heavy, and that means it cannot move through the pipes smoothly.
You need to know what you should and should not be putting into this fascinating contraption. There are also things you should know to do and not to do in order to keep things working properly:
It’s best with cold water
We all think of hot water when we want to wash our hands or dishes. We take hot showers. We wash many of our clothes in hot water. But when it comes to your garbage disposal, you should really be using cold water. Cold water keeps grease hard, which allows it to more easily break up and go down your pipes. Using hot water makes the grease loose and sticky again, which leads to a nasty film all over the inside of your pipes. That’s gross, stinky, and causes problems. Use cold water!
In keeping with the cold theme, a great way to clean your disposal and drains is using ice. Grinding up ice in your disposal allows for the chunks and shards to scrape against the inside and clean things up. Like sandpaper, the ice is abrasive and bushes around to pull the gunk off and make things feel much newer again. That also means there’s nothing there to stink anymore. As we’ve said, cold is good.
Freshen it with lemons
A natural way to freshen things up and make things smell good again is using the citrus awesomeness of lemons. There’s a reason so many cleaning products incorporate the powerful fresh scent of lemons. Cut some up, squeeze the juice out of them, and let it run down the drain with cold water.
Baking soda and vinegar
Another great way to clean and deodorize is using the bubbly magic of these common household ingredients that so many kids have used for science projects. You can use this mixture to clean clogged drains too. Pour some baking soda in, then pour a little vinegar on top and let it start working. Go slowly and then flush with cold water.
Here’s a novel idea, clean it
One of the simplest ways to keep your disposal and drains cleaned is to simply clean it out. gather up any remaining chunks, rinse down the excess sludge, and wipe things off. This simple practice will not only keep your sink looking shiny and clean, but will also help protect it from other more problematic troubles down the road.
Water Heater or Boiler Installation & Repair
We all love hot water. Cold water is great for sinks and disposals, but nobody wants to shower or wash their hands with cold water! Fortunately hot water has been a thing for a long time now.
Your Plumber Lehi works with both standard tank water heaters, as well as tankless water heaters. Either option allows you to have hot water on demand.
For tankless water heaters, Your Plumber Lehi recommends Navien Condensing tankless water heaters. We have chosen to specialize in Navien water heaters because we have spent years understanding the quality and ease of use they offer. Tankless water heaters are excellent because they heat up the water as needed, as long as you need it, without running out.
This is accomplished through magic! No, not really. It’s quite simple really, when you open the tap, it tells the Navien unit to begin the process of heating water. It does, you get it, and everyone is happy. They take up less space, and are more efficient. What’s not to love?
Don’t worry, if you prefer the standard old tank style heater, we offer water heater repair and new water heater installation as well. While you have many options such as Rinnai water heaters or GE water heaters, State and Rheem brand traditional tank-type water heaters are our go to choices.
When you think of a water boiler, you probably imagine huge beasts of equipment that sit in the back rooms and basements of large buildings and hotels. This is not untrue, but more and more we are doing compact and efficient residential boiler installation too.
Boilers are great for hot water in larger homes, but they are also wonderful options for homes seeking alternative heating methods through steam .
Because so many people are looking for residential boiler installation and repair, we have gotten really good at servicing and installing them. Call us today to learn about this option and get a free estimate.

Things to Know About Your Water Softener
Throughout most of Utah, we experience the frustrations of hard water. The increase in minerals and contaminants in our source water supply means we are getting these same things on our skin, clothes, and in our food. Generally hard water is not damaging or harmful, but over time it can cause erosion to pipes, damage to fixtures, and possibly challenges to your health.
Water purification systems, usually in the form of a water softener, is one of the best ways to address these issues.
If you don’t have a water softener, call us for a free estimate to have one installed.
If you have a home with a water softener, there are a few things you should really know:
Use the right type of salt
Not all soft water salts are the same, and not all water softeners use the same salts. There are actually three main types which are salt tablets, granular salt, and salt blocks. within those types there are rock salts, solar salts, and evaporated salts. Ask Your Plumber Lehi to make sure you are using the correct kind. The wrong salts will be ineffective, and can damage your water softener.
Clean your tank regularly
How often you need to clean your tank depends on the quality of your source water, and the total consumption your home uses. Cleaning your water softener at least once per year is recommended, but depending on your specific circumstances you may need to do it even more. Let us help you determine how often and teach you how to do it correctly.
Keep a salt “bridge” from building up
We live in Utah, so we all understand the concept of natural arches. Erosion from wind and water wears away at the rocks, leaving a natural bridge. Well, the same thing can happen in your water softener (minus the wind we hope). As the salt lower down in the tank dissolves during use, the salt on top can hold firm in a bridge like formation. This means no salt is working within your water softener. Keep an eye on this and carefully help break up these bridges periodically.
Make sure to check your salt level regularly
Speaking of checking on your salt, one of the simplest and yet most commonly forgotten things is to check on your salt levels. If you run out of salt, your water softener isn’t really doing anything. The salt helps to remove the trace elements in the source water, so without salt those elements are slipping right on through. Simply keep an eye on it and refill the tank as needed.
Make sure water softener parts are working properly
This may take a little education, but with the help of Your Plumber Lehi, we can help you know what to watch for and how to properly maintain the working parts of your water softener. On our next visit, make sure to ask us for a free lesson.
Adjust for the size of your family
We mentioned how every home is different. Well, that means every water softener cycle is going to be different. Pay attention and learn how often your home needs salt added, and adjust the settings to work for your unique source water, family size, and overall water consumption.
Main Water Lines
For most people, the only reason their home has water in the first place is because the city has allowed their central water lines to flow into your home through a main water line.
Likewise, they allow you to send your waste and wastewater back into the municipal sewer system through your main sewer line.
If there is damage to either of these lines, you are most likely feeling rather miserable.
Water line repairs and sewer line repairs usually don’t happen for a long time, but things like construction, tree root growth, seismic disruptions, and home remodeling can sometimes cause leaks and breaks that you don’t expect.
Your Plumber Lehi can offer water line repairs, emergency sewer repairs, and other services associated with your main lines whenever you need them.
We can respond with 24 hour emergency plumbing services to help in those overwhelming situations.
Flooding, low water pressure, sewage backups, damaged basement walls, soft ground, burst pipes, and many other indicators could be the cause of main line damage.
These are generally not inexpensive repairs, but we will always offer an estimate in advance of work, and we always strive to give you the fairest price in town to begin with.
